HOW IT WORKS.

The Raintaker FAQ

Will the Raintaker® work for my boat?

If you have an open boat (Dinghy, Whaler, Zodiac, skiff or any other open boat where the water collects in the hull / open floor) Raintaker® is the solution to flooded boats.

Our systems are turnkey and do not require any wiring or modification to your boat.

The Raintaker FAQ

How do I use Raintaker®

Simply use the included wall charger when you receive your Raintaker®. Plug the unit into the wall for 4-6 hours to pre-condition the internal battery. This is also helpful after seasonal storage.

After 4 hours, the Raintaker® is ready for use. The Raintaker® will not need to plugged into the wall again as it can charge itself up to 100% with sunlight. The included charger is only supplied to rapid charge your unit without sunlight.

Set the Raintaker® on your vessel floor / deck, cover or bilge and lay the included discharge hose over the side of your boat. That’s it!

We include enough high-quality silicone discharge hose to use Raintaker in a variety of ways. If you’re using the Raintaker® on a smaller boat, skiff, Zodiac etc.. you can easily trim the hose to a custom length to ensure the hose is able to go directly over the side of the vessel and into the water. The Raintaker® will automatically remove water, day or night.

The Raintaker FAQ

How does Raintaker® work?

Raintaker® and Raintaker® PRO utilize built-in solid-state sensors that detect rising water levels. Once water is detected, Raintaker will activate to remove the accumulated water. Water detection typically happens with 1” of water or less, making this a true low-profile pump.

Raintaker® pumps do not use float switches.

Raintaker® uses its internal battery to run its internal pump, automatically.

Can the Raintaker® be used on all boat covers / boat surfaces?

Yes! Raintaker® is designed for all boat surfaces including fiberglass, wood and aluminum. The built-in 3M traction pad on the bottom of the unit allows the Raintaker to stay in place on nearly every surface, even during high winds. Raintaker® is built with composite materials, eliminating any worry of scratching or marring your vessel. Ideal for wooden boats.

The Raintaker® is designed to be left outside, on the topside, bilge or even a boat cover. It is fully automatic, with no buttons or switches to fail.

The Raintaker FAQ

Does Raintaker® have to be charged after every use?

No. The unit will charge itself during daylight hours (even when it is less than “sunny” out).

Raintaker® will automatically remove water, day and night. The Raintaker® is designed to be left outside and in view of the sky whenever possible to keep its battery full and ready for use.

Does Raintaker® work as a standalone bilge pump system?

Yes. Raintaker® can be used in any area that needs water removal. With its automatic activation, Raintaker® will quickly remove water when it starts to accumulate with its built-in high torque pump. (1100GPH for PRO – 500GPH for standard Raintaker).

This is ideal for unattended boats, ensuring your boat won’t take on water while you are away.

Without any cables and utilizing solar charging only, The Raintaker® can go from 0% to 100% charge with 4-5 hours of strong sun. It will go from 0% to 30% charge with 1 hour of sun exposure (enough to start pumping water if detected), eliminating the need for any cables, plugs or wires.

Daily daylight will keep the Raintaker® charged to 100% and ready for activation. If it sits in your unattended boat or boat cover, it will remain charged and activate automatically when water is detected, day or night – for months on end.

The Raintaker FAQ

What if my bilge area is covered? How does it work in a covered area?

How much water can the Raintaker® remove?

The Raintaker® was designed to handle extreme downpours and weeks of HEAVY rain. The pump is programmed to ensure efficient water removal. The smart sensor activation system doesn’t have the issues of failure prone float switches, making sure water is removed when detected.

Raintaker® automatically recharges when exposed to daylight.

You can expect over 800lbs of water removal within the first 30 minutes of Raintaker activation. (PRO model will remove 1500lbs within 30 min)

Typical “automatic bilge” pumps will fail due mechanical float switches. Raintaker uses computer-controlled activation to ensure it gets rid of accumulated water as needed, using its own internal battery with quick energy recovery. Raintaker® does not require any external wiring or installation.

When the storm hits, this is still working.
